We have been inviting teachers from all over the world to Javorie for more than 10 years. We invite teachers of the Theravada tradition with whom we have our own experience or have good recommendations from our meditators or friendly centres.

Bhante Dhammajiva

He is the abbot and chief meditation master of the Mitirigal Nissaranavanaya Forest Meditation Centre in Sri Lanka. He has meditated under the guidance of two great teachers - Matara Sri Nanarama Maha Thero of Sri Lanka and Sayadaw U Pandita of Burma.

Beth Upton

Beth Upton has been a dedicated meditation instructor since 2014. Her tailored approach caters to every student's unique circumstances, tapping into their innate wisdom. A decade as a Buddhist nun, including five years in Myanmar under Pa Auk Sayadaw, allowed her to deeply learn and practice meditation. Her diverse training and solo retreats in caves and forests further refine her teachings.

Jitka Vodňanská

In the 1990s, she became interested in Buddhism and started practicing Vipassana meditation. Later, in 1998, she began working with the Czech monk Ashin Ottam as his assistant teacher. Through him she met the Malaysian monk Bhante Sujiv, with whom she has been conducting meditation courses in this country and in the Czech Republic for over 20 years.

Sayadaw U Tejaniya

Ashin Tejaniya began meditating as a young boy with Shwe Oo Min Sayadaw (pronounced Shwe Oo Min Sayadaw, 1913-2002). He was ordained as a monk in 1996. He is known for his relaxed attitude (as opposed to the strict regime of Mahasi Sayadaw) and sense of humour.

Visuddhi

Venerable Visuddhi is a fully ordained Buddhist nun of the Theravāda tradition and a Dhamma teacher. With her compassionate and generous approach, she helps the suffering and the poor, especially children. During her spiritual journey, she focused on the study and training of meditation and Dhamma teaching. In 2012, she founded the Karunā Sevena monastic abode in Prostějov and became a bhikkhunī therī in 2016.

Bhante Seelawansa

In 1991 Bhante Seelawansa Thero became a Doctor of Philosophy and has since taught at the University of Vienna and the University of Liechtenstein. He is abbot of a Buddhist monastery in Sri Lanka and spiritual director of the Theravada School of the state Austrian Buddhist Religious Society.

Hannes Huber

Hannes Huber is an experienced meditation teacher from Austria who has been practicing Vipassana since 1985. He has also completed an intensive metta session under the guidance of Sayadaw U Indaka from Burma. Hannes has had training in Psychosynthesis with Sascha Dönges from Switzerland.

Mae chi Brigitte

Brigitte Schrottenbacher, known as MC, is an Austrian Thai nun who teaches Vipassana, Metta and body contemplation in a free style, adapting the techniques to the individual abilities of her students. She consistently stresses the importance of practicing the Dhamma in everyday life. Her classes are intensive but relaxed, and include metta and body contemplation. MC has initiated several social projects and assists the Child Protection Center in Pattaya.

Bhante Gavesi

Bhante Gavesi was ordained as a monk in 2001 by Sayadaw U Pandita of the Panditarama in Yangon (Burma). In his early days, he practiced satipatthana vipassana mainly under the guidance of Bhante Sujiva, Sayadaw U Nyanapunnika of Nepal and his instructor Sayadaw U Pandita.

Ján Burian

Ján Burian has completed psychotherapeutic training in satitherapy and training for MBCT lecturers organized by the Oxfrod Centre for Mindfulness. Since 2012, he has conducted dozens of mindfulness courses not only for the general public or companies, but also in prison, for example. He participated in the first Czech neuroscience research on mindfulness.

Bhante

Bhante in the Pali language, sometimes also Bhadanta, is a respectful title used to address Buddhist monks in the Theravada tradition. The term, in the context of spiritual hierarchy and practice, means "venerable".
