Lama Tsony was a Buddhist monk for more than 25 years – he completed 2 three-year retreats
under the guidance of the great meditation master Gendun Rinpoche. He was abbot for 15 years
Kundreul Ling Monastery in France, where hundreds of people from Western culture have completed a three-year
retreat. Since 1999, he has been teaching at Bodhipath centers under the guidance of Shamar Rinpoche. In
2005, he began delegating his duties at Kundreul Ling so that he could concentrate on developing
growing Bodhipath projects in Europe and the USA.
In 2007, after deciding to pursue a life as a lay dharma teacher, he left the community
monastery to devote himself fully to his new responsibilities. Since then, Tsony has been dedicating
his time to the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and meditation practice.
In 2008, he married Wendelin from California, a teacher and administrative force in the field/in
field of innovative education.
Following Shamar Rinpoche’s advice, since 2009 they have both been living in the U.S., in Natural Bridge
Bodhipath Center, where Lama Tsony is a permanent teacher.
