Program

The course starts on the first day (Wednesday) at 18:00 with a light dinner. It ends on the last day (Sunday) after breakfast. Arrival to the centre is possible from 14:00. All participants must arrive on the first day of the course best before 17:00. Dinner is followed by a speech by the organizers and the course starts around 19:00. From the following morning, the daily programme given by the teacher applies.

Practical information

DIET

A vegetarian meal is served twice a day (breakfast, lunch). You are advised to follow eight precepts. If you find it too difficult, you can follow five precepts and have a light dinner (soup). For those who are allergic to certain food ingredients, a gluten-free or lactose-free diet is available. Please inform us of your dietary preferences in your application. Special dietary requirements announced upon arrival will be hard to accommodate.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is in the main building, with 3 participants per room. You can indicate your interest in solo accommodation when filling in the registration form. Should the capacity allow it, we will try to meet your preference.

KARMA YOGA

We offer an opportunity for voluntary help to the centre, approximately 15 to 30 min. per day. A selection of chores will be posted on the notice board from which you can choose one, for example: helping in the kitchen (cutting vegetables, putting dishes in the dishwasher, etc.), cleaning the common areas, cleaning the dining room, ringing the gong and other activities according to current needs. Working meditation is an important part of the practice during the retreat.

At the end of the course, before leaving, we ask everyone to clean their room and help with the common areas (halls, dining room, toilets, etc.). Information will be given to you on arrival. Noble silence and mindfulness are observed during karma yoga.

Apply

Preference will be given to practitioners who sign up for the full length of 45 days. However if space remains available, we will allow a 30 (from 8.1.2025 to 8.2.2025) or 15 day option (from 8.2.2025 do 23.2.2025). All participants must arrive on the first day of the retreat / part of the retreat.

Registration is open from July 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024

*** please include in the note the date and location of courses you have taken with Beth in the past***

Participants will be selected by lottery. Those of you who do not make the primary list will be placed on a waiting list.

For the participants placed on the waiting list, it is important to be ready to arrive on a short notice. It has been our experience that a few spots become available a day or two before or on the day the course starts. As soon as we know of a vacancy, we will contact you by phone. Therefore, please include your current phone number with the international area code in the application form.

After registering for the course, you will receive an e-mail confirming your inclusion in the lottery. After the lottery takes place, you will be informed about your enrollment in the course or on the waiting list.

If you need to cancel after being offered participation in the retreat, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can place a practitioner from the waiting list in your place.

Course donation

RECOMMENDED DONATION AMOUNT (dána)

1 350,- €

includes expenses to cover the meal (breakfast, lunch) and accommodation

Donation can be made in cash on arrival at the Centre or by bank transfer before, during or after the course. Donation does not include teacher’s dána.

Please in course registration form below (Note) mention the courses you have taken with Beth (date and place)

According to Buddhist tradition, the Buddha's teachings cannot be expressed in money or material gifts. Dana to the Centre or teacher is an expression of the meditator's good will and financial standing. At the same time it is an opportunity to develop generosity as an inherent part of the practice.

Donations to support the meditation centre cover the running costs of the Centre and the travel expenses of teachers and his or her assistants. They do not include dána to the teacher. We would be grateful if you consider this and make a suitable donation to the teacher if it is in your power to do so.
